Red Light Therapy and Women's Hormone Balance

Red Light Therapy and Women's Hormone Balance

Women's hormonal health is complex and influenced by numerous factors. Research into photobiomodulation suggests it may offer supportive benefits for various aspects of female endocrine function.

Thyroid Support

One of the most studied applications of PBM in women's health involves thyroid function. Multiple clinical trials have shown that near-infrared light therapy applied to the thyroid gland can improve thyroid function in patients with hypothyroidism, with some participants able to reduce their medication dosage under medical supervision.

Menstrual Health & Fertility

Emerging research explores the role of PBM in supporting menstrual regularity and fertility. The anti-inflammatory and circulation-boosting effects may support ovarian function, while the stress-reducing properties could help regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis that governs the menstrual cycle.

Menopausal Symptom Management

For women experiencing menopause, PBM may offer supportive benefits through improved sleep quality, reduced joint stiffness, enhanced skin health (collagen production), and mood regulation through nervous system support.

As with all applications, we recommend discussing red light therapy with your healthcare provider, especially if you have existing hormonal conditions or are on medication. Our approach is always complementary and conservative.

Light therapy is used as a supportive wellness modality and does not replace medical care.
